Mirus IT are looking for a Senior Service Desk Engineer  to work from our impressive and modern office in Wymbush Milton Keynes.

Job Role

You will be essential to providing support to our key clients in an IT support desk environment. Mirus value the importance of our IT Support Engineers, who are crucial to delivering a world class customer service.

To thrive in a fast-paced environment, troubleshooting challenging queries and experience of IT managed services will be instrumental to your success.

You will take problem ownership with clear, concise, customer communication whilst managing expectations. Our customer service drives our success, so a customer focused approach is essential.


  • 3+ years’ experience as an Engineer providing IT support to SME’s.
  • Familiar with working to SLA’s to meet both customer and contract requirements.
  • Troubleshooting experience to an expert level (Level 3 support).
  • Experience of supporting multi-site clients.
  • Qualified to at least one of the following - MCSA: Windows Server 2012/2016 or MCSA: Office 365 or MCSA: Cloud Platform, CCNA (Switching and routing) or VMware Certified Professional 6.5 - Data Center Virtualization (VCP6.5-DCV).


  • Mac Support Experience;
  • ITIL v3 Foundation.

Technical Skill-set

  • Office 365.
  • Azure / AD.
  • Exchange On-line.
  • Firewalls (SonicWALL).
  • Cisco ASA.
  • Horizon View.
  • Windows Server Technologies (including server function: AD, DNS, DHCP, Direct Access, IIS, NAP, Radius and RDS).
  • Microsoft Exchange Server and be able to diagnose complicated mail flow issues.
  • SQL Server experience.
  • SAN solutions (iSCSI, Fibre, multipath configurations).

Interview Process:

  • First stage: This will be a 45 minute – 60 minute technical conversation with one of the Senior Engineers at Mirus IT;
  • Second stage: Will be a Skype video interview with the Technical Team Leader and Head of Service Desk;
  • Third stage: A face to face interview with the Technical Team Leader and Head of Service Desk. This will take place at our office in Wymbush, Milton Keynes.
  • Final stage: This is offer and agreement of a start date. Start day is usually a Monday @ 09:30 dependent on your availability.
