MTeam Monthly Blog – August and September 2020

We took a short break, but the monthly blog is back!

You may have noticed we took a break for the monthly blog in August, but not to worry, we’re just about to catch you up on the past two months…

Let’s start with August. The MTeam were treated to a massive bag of pic’n’mix sweets, kindly sent to each of us, at home, in a huge bag byRonni Sweets the SMT. It wasn’t quite the usual sweet selection we would’ve had in the office, but these bags potentially, if not definitely, lasted longer than the sweets do in the office, well mine did anyway! I wonder if anyone still has some left over… I doubt it.

We not so long ago welcomed Sarah Butler to the MTeam, and she made such an impression that in her first couple of weeks, she was awarded our Colleague of the Month accolade too!

Here’s what her new peers had to say:

“She has hit the ground running and has been very very helpful!! 😊”

“She’s been mega organised and has just cracked on with sorting loads of stuff out 😊”Sarah Butler COTM

“She’s really calm and has a great approach to dealing with projects.”

“I would like to vote for Sarah Butler please. New to the role and has been great. Rolled her sleeves up and got stuck in. Helpful, kind and always trying to help. Seems a lovely person as well.”

“Settling in quickly, positive feedback from the Client Managers…”

This is seriously impressive feedback Sarah, well done, and it’s great to have you on board!

We'd like to send our congratulations to Anthony from the Projects team and his wife, who welcomed a beautiful little girl into the world in August.

Ali Khan passed both the Sales Software and the Inbound Sales HubSpot courses; Chad Harrod passed his N+ exam; and Danny Clarke & Rob Kirk attended a 3 day ITIL v4 foundation course, both of them passing their exams. Well done everyone!

Now onto the rest of September.

We had our ISO27001 recertification audit and we passed!

Jake McAllistar MTeamJake took part in the Europe’s Toughest Mudder 2020 – Virtual Edition and came an impressive first overall in his age group. Well done!

Pippa, our Head of Marketing, jumped out of a plane to raise money for Harry’s Rainbow. Well done for raising £750, Pip! Here’s what she had to say about her jump:

“I’m terrified of heights, yet have always wanted to skydive, and after paying for two other people to do it as gifts, I thought it was about time that I treated myself to a go. I also hoped to raise awareness and funds for Harry’s Rainbow, so set up a Just Giving page.Pippa skydive

The jump was soooo scary, I felt sick for most of the freefall, but the professionals were charming, put me at ease and I had a wicked time. I was rather wobbly when I landed though – all that adrenaline!”

Well done Pippa, If you’d like to, you can still contribute to the Harry’s Rainbow sponsorship page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/pippajumpsoutofaplane!

COTM Picture AlexAnd last but not least, the Colleague of the Month for September was Alex Green! Here are his nominations.

“Customer champ Alex Green for me :-)”

“Always known Alex is a great engineer but I have worked more closely with him this month and seen what a great asset to Mirus he is. He doesn’t mind going the extra mile and has a fantastic attitude to everything he puts himself forward for. Always has time for a chat to go through anything, and sends quality comms to both the client and myself. Top lad!”

“Always helpful whenever I have a query”

“Really nice bloke and nothing is ever too much trouble.”

Excellent work MTeam, another great month – despite working remotely, we’re still working together as a great team!

That’s all for this blog, catch us next time for more MTeam updates!
