We love to muck-in at Mirus. Mucking-in is one of our specialities, and what better way to test our abilities than to muck-in at Ride High Stables this week!
With almost 30 horses on site, our team were in their element. We were honoured to have been able to not only contribute with sponsorship for the charity, but to also provide a large screen TV and a full day’s labour to redecorate the main activity room for the children who attend the stables.
Our team, returned covered in emulsion and gloss paint and beaming with pride at the difference their work will make to the charity.
“Having witnessed first-hand the amazing results Ride High achieve with the kids they support, being able to give back to such a dedicated and lovely team of people was fantastic. Even more so as we turned what was a tired old room into a clean and welcoming space for the kids to use.” Liam Pickard, our Internal Business Development Manager
“A few years ago, I was referred to Ride High by my school after struggling with life at home. I moved on to becoming a volunteer with them and really got to understand the amount of passion, time and thought that has gone into the charity. Unfortunately, I later had to move away from being a volunteer due to the rising pressure of my GCSE’s.
“I have come so far since my time with Ride High and wouldn’t be the confident and accomplished person I am today without them. Therefore, I was delighted to help as much as I could, and it was totally worth getting covered in paint!” Rachel Jeffryes Accounts Assistant
Huge thanks to our Semi-Professional Painters and Decorators, Leila Conway, Liam Pickard, David Joy, Rachel Jeffryes, Richard Finch and Jim Hyde. Brilliant job!
Dan Sharp, Sales Director at Mirus IT commented “It’s important for Mirus to give back where we can, we’ve been established in Milton Keynes for over 15 years and our commitment to our local community is something we’re very proud of.”
Ride High is a registered charity changing the lives of disadvantaged children by giving them the opportunity to ride horses, building their self-esteem and confidence and improving their prospects. There is evidence that for children who are angry, hurt, upset, lonely or underprivileged, contact with horses can have highly beneficial effects. Ride High work with up to 80 children every week.
