The 2011/12 Aviva Premiership Rugby campaign began with a 26-24 victory for the Saints as they beat Gloucester in a gripping back and forth tie at Franklin's Gardens. The Mirus team attended the match but came along with some gifts for the supporters.
Mirus created thousands of “Try” cards for the fans to hold in the air when the Saints scored a try. As usual, the mighty Saints were on form and scored their first try after 21 minutes. The view from inside the stadium was fantastic as the cards had “Try” on one side and “Mirus” on the other side.
Phil Dowson and Martin Roberts scored the tries and while the Cherry and Whites crossed twice themselves, a flawless kicking performance from Stephen Myler and a Ryan Lamb three-pointer moments from time saw the Saints home.
Most of the supporters took their cards home and many told us they would keep them for the coming games. All in all a great day out for the Mirus team and a brilliant start to the season by the Saints.
