In an official Guinness World Record attempt, the team from Mirus are gearing up to compete in a 72 hour 5 aside football match in April 2014.
To test their aptitude, they are first taking part in a 24 hour warm up match, with help from Milton Keynes College this week on Friday 22nd November at the college campus. Students from the college will also be providing support from the catering faculty and providing a friendly opposition to keep the team motivated.
Paul Tomlinson, leading the challenge said “We are really looking forward to achieving a Guinness World Record next year, but first we are being sensible and testing our own fitness levels and our event planning to make sure we are fully prepared for the demanding 3 day test. Support from Milton Keynes College has been second to none - and in particular from Client Relationship Manager Kaye Dwight who has been fundamental in helping us get the plan off the ground and driving support.
This challenge is all in aide of raising funds and awareness for the Milton Keynes Community Foundation, who the company will be officially begin fundraising for in January 2014. The MK Community Foundation “Grow Your Tenner” scheme means that all £10 donations made in November 2013 will be matched by a further £10, so fundraising has been opened early to make the most of this opportunity.
