For the Service Desk Engineers of Mirus, progression can take many forms, be it our Employee Accelerator Scheme, Apprentice Programmes or our Super Star Training Programme. Each is designed to take the boldest and brightest to the very next step of their career, making their employment with Mirus both rewarding and long running.
We’re proud to announce the next big career leap at the Mirus offices, with George graduating from his 2017 apprentice role into a new position as a Service Desk Engineer within one of our dedicated "large client" desk teams.
George had this to say on his journey with Mirus:
“I joined Mirus in 2017 as an apprentice with little IT knowledge. I studied IT at school for my GCSE’s and helped friends and family where I could. I joined the yellow team, which deal with our tier one customers, and was thrown straight in. Luckily, with the support of an amazing team, I managed to pick up and learn a lot of new skills and technologies that I didn’t know about before, which was a massive help.
Through my apprenticeship, my knowledge kept improving and I continued to work hard to be top of the CrewHu leader board and make sure I was hitting my targets. By doing this I managed to get Employee of the Month, which was a great achievement. Skip forward a year and I was nominated for IT Apprentice of the Year at the UK IT Industry awards. With the help and support from everyone at Mirus I even got through as a Finalist!
Since then I have moved around the office and have been continuing to learn and grow. I am now working on the support desk looking after just the one company, but since joining I have been introduced to and learnt a load of new technologies. My team have been a massive help and have supported me all the way which has been great.
I am going to continue to learn and grow throughout the business and hopefully become a senior engineer.”
