The aim of the series is to follow real organisations, understand their structure and processes and working with the ‘Service Desk Inspector’ who is an experienced ITSM consultant, to tackle any service delivery challenges that are highlighted and work with the company to address these over a 6 month period.  Working with Mirus will be Barclay Rae, who has experience of delivering over 300 service improvement projects.

We now have a Smart Car which the team use for getting around town and visiting clients. With low emissions and an economical engine it will help us to play our part in saving the planet. It’s also has the Mirus branding so be sure to look out for it!

There were lots of fun activities and brilliant questions in the quiz, but overall there was a winning team consisting of Tom Williams, John Green & Peter Hack. Well done to that team and we are all looking forward to the next quiz night.

The team at Mirus usually send an annual Xmas card with a photo of the team in a fancy dress theme. This year we wanted to do something a little different.

To help raise money for AYME (Association of Young People with ME http://www.ayme.org.uk) Mirus decided to shoot a Xmas video and donate money to the charity that we would have normally spent on Xmas cards.

The video was great fun to make and truly shows that although providing IT support can be hard work, we still have fun. The people at Mirus are the most valuable asset and having happy staff results in better customer service.

Dan showed that preparation really does pay off and his trainer lace was the difference when it came down to cracking other peoples nuts.

The final was a tense affair and despite only limping through with cracks everywhere Craig Kilborn put up a strong fight but the earlier rounds had taken their toll on Craigs’s once mighty nut and Dan emerged victorious.

Thanks to all those who took part and to referee Paul Tomlinson for keeping things moving along and supplying drinks and Paul O’Connor for BBQing the burgers.

AYME (pronounced ‘aim’) is the largest charity for children and young people with ME/CFS, with over ten years of knowledge and experience about how this illness affects children and young people.

They know how important it is to have good understanding friends which is why AYME offers lots of friendship-supporting services like an online community, pen pals, e-mates, buddies and local get-togethers, all run by other young people with ME/CFS. They are all under 26 and have probably been through similar situations as you. Members get a bi-monthly magazine packed with young people’s news and views. You can choose to get involved or just enjoy reading and listening to what others are getting up to.

The team at Mirus are very excited to be supporting AYME and are already planning their Mirus Challenges for 2012, including an Iron Man competition!

Mirus created thousands of “Try” cards for the fans to hold in the air when the Saints scored a try. As usual, the mighty Saints were on form and scored their first try after 21 minutes. The view from inside the stadium was fantastic as the cards had “Try” on one side and “Mirus” on the other side.

Phil Dowson and Martin Roberts scored the tries and while the Cherry and Whites crossed twice themselves, a flawless kicking performance from Stephen Myler and a Ryan Lamb three-pointer moments from time saw the Saints home.

Most of the supporters took their cards home and many told us they would keep them for the coming games. All in all a great day out for the Mirus team and a brilliant start to the season by the Saints.

Our relationship with the MK Dons has been growing over the years and recently Mirus decided they wanted to show their support for the team through sponsorship.
