In their latest attempt to raise money for Willen Hospice the brave team from Mirus IT Solutions handed over various parts of their bodies for waxing. Body parts, including chests, legs and backs were donated to the cause, which took place in the Hospices’ Day Rooms on Friday 9th July.
One of the team to get waxed, Adam Kirby said ‘I expected that it was going to be extremely painful but I have to say it was not too bad, although it feels a little odd at the moment!’
The waxing was carried out by local hair and beauty specialist Debbie Elderton from Arcana salons who kindly donated her time and equipment. She added ‘I have to say that the guys from Mirus were very brave and whilst there were a few screams I think they secretly enjoyed it!’
Dan Sharp, Sales Director at Mirus IT, commented ‘Following a number of the team successfully completing the Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Willen Hospice, the people that didn’t take part in that challenge wanted to show their support to the fantastic hospice. We, maybe foolishly, decided upon waxing and I have to thank everyone for getting involved and donating various parts of their body hair and Debbie from Arcana for waxing us so well!’
This event raised over £500 for the Hospice to support the work that they do for the local community whether through residential care or day services that they offer. Along with this event and other recent challenges such as the recent Three Peaks Challenge the company have recently raised over £4000 for the Hospice. Julia Rogerson from Willen Hospice commented ‘The support we receive from local businesses is essential to maintain the services we provide. The team from Mirus IT have certainly put themselves through some pain for us’.
