Mirus IT Solutions and Northamptonshire Enterprise Ltd are the new backers of the club’s Sportsmatch Community Programme.
The support of the two companies has been matched pound for pound by Sportsmatch and the total £40,000 funding will enable the Saints Community Department to continue to build on the previous two years’ successes and expand the programme into Milton Keynes (Mirus donated £20k).
The programme will now cover 35 primary schools and 10 secondary schools in Northampton and 10 special schools in Northampton and Milton Keynes. Year 6 and 7 students will receive coaching in tag rugby as well as a phased introduction into full contact rugby.
Mirus IT Solutions are the Saints’ Official Technology Partner, while Northamptonshire Enterprise are sponsors of the club’s Player of the Month Award.
Over the past two years the programme has brought rugby coaching to many students, and Saints head of community, Sian Haynes, is delighted that the club has secured funding for a third year.

Northampton Saints chief executive Allan Robson said that the companies’ decision to support the Sportsmatch Community Programme reflected the working relationship between the club and its sponsors.
“I am thrilled that Mirus have taken the step to further their ties with us by backing our programme,” he said. “It is a programme that has enriched the sporting experiences of hundreds of children and I am delighted that we can now continue this into a third year.”
