First Line On-site Service Desk Engineer

Mirus IT Solutions is a business computer services company based in Milton Keynes founded by Paul Tomlinson in 2002. The main focus of Mirus it to provide IT support in London, Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. You will be part of a committed IT Services company providing high quality IT services. The aim is to provide the level of support a business would expect to receive from an internal IT team.

Experience:

You will be a Service Desk Engineer and part of the On-site Team that is managed by Adam Risby. This will be based on-site for our client in Central London. The key responsibility for a On-site Service Desk Engineer is to provide software, hardware and network problem resolutions to client technical problems. You will also perform problem diagnosis and guide users through step-by-step solutions in a desktop support based environment.

For this you will have: –

  • 1-2 years’ experience as a Service Desk Engineer supporting SME’s;
  • Experience of working in a corporate customer facing role supporting up to director level;
  • Familiar with working to SLA’s to meet both customer and contract requirements.

Technical Skill-set

Windows Server Technologies (2008 to 2012) and Exchange 2010 +:

  • Basic understanding and troubleshooting issues.

Active Directory:

  • Configure new users;
  • New OU’s;
  • Configure sites and services;
  • Resolve issues.

PC / Server Hardware:

  • Upgrade, both hardware and firmware;
  • Raid configurations, iLO.

DNS;

  • Understanding of DNS.

Group Policies:

  • Understanding and Basic troubleshoot issues.

Firewalls:

  • Understanding and Basic troubleshoot issues.

Interview Process:

  • First stage: This will be a 30 minute technical conversation with one of our Senior Engineers;
  • Second stage: A Skype video interview with Adam Risby, Service Delivery Manager;
  • Third stage: This will take place in London at the client site with Adam Risby, Service Delivery Manager and On-site Senior Engineer;
  • Final stage: This is offer and agreement of a start date. Start day is usually a Monday @ 9:30am dependent on your availability.
