Mirus Complete the NSPCC Bike Ride Despite the Extreme Weather

The week building up to this challenge saw lots of cold weather alerts and the Bike Ride team were feeling a little worried about what they could face on the day, but they still got up early on a Saturday morning despite the weather. The team met at a frozen car park in the centre of Milton Keynes at 7.30am to begin their journey to London.

One word can describe the conditions that morning, ARCTIC! The temperature was as low as minus 6 in most places and a biting wind faced the riders on their journey. A couple of punctures occurred and some basic maintenance was required but overall it was a success. The thought of sitting in a warm pub for some well deserved hot food and an open fire kept the team going and the comradery between the team kept everyone in high spirits.

All in all the journey was extremely tough, the cold weather and rock solid ground made for some aches and pains in various body parts but once the challenge was completed it seemed all worth it. A big well done to the team for making it through the seemingly impossible weather.
